Peter writes:

"Music can paint a picture or tell a story. It can be a personal diary, evoking tears or laughter. Music can be a very powerful medium through which to pass on your own thoughts and imagination. Imagination has always been the key to artistic success, whether or not you are a painter, a poet or a musician.

Open your heart and mind as well as your ears, and music will begin to speak to you more clearly. In this book, I want to pass on to you the gift of imagination which can turn even the most mundane, 'boring' old tune into something very entertaining, very listenable and very enjoyable."

Peter gives you some very practical tips and hints to start using your own imagination. The first thing he tells you is to 'read the words'. Then he talks about creating atmosphere with little snippets of tunes, how to choose the right sounds, how to choose the right key, improvising and putting in fills (in other words - those 'twiddly-bits' that we all want to do), then looks at chord substitution (choosing better chords to improve the arrangement). The book is packed with knowledge and very good, clear musical illustrations.

This 20 page book is clearly written in understandable English. The music is in easy to read, clear, good-sized print. It really will help you to 'play better'!
